Hola todos!
As per usual, I have a horrible sense of time, and as such, am running quite low on it! I'm sorry, but I feel like y'all are getting pretty bored of these by now, haha. But don't worry, you only need to read four more after this! GAH! That's so nuts! I am officially on my last month of my mission today. It's really freaking me out in all honesty. I know my mom and fam are probably stoked to see me, and I am to see them too, but just the thought of taking this tag off is..unsettling, haha.
This week, with the transfers and all, we didn't have a ton of time to go meet people, but we ended up finding out some stuff! The venezuelan daughter and mother that came to church a few weeks ago are apparently not members of the church. They were just taught a lot by the missionaries and really liked going to church. They just never felt comfortable about baptism, but something has changed, and they are super down for it now! So we will be meeting with them tomorrow to figure everything out! I'm super stoked! Also Rosa and Adrian came to church yesterday again! They are really liking the feeling of it, and seem to be cultivating a desire to know more and more, it's super cool to witness. My new companions are really interesting. Elder West is from Ogden, and really loved Lucky Slice (the place I worked at), so that's been fun to talk about. Elder Marshall is from Brazil, so he speaks fluent English and Portuguese. His Spanish is coming along super well too! They are both super in to working out...so that has been pretty interesting to witness as well, haha. It's been cool learning from them though! I feel like it's gonna be a great last transfer!
I don't have much spiritual thought time, but I just finished reading through the Book of Mormon again this week, and came across an awesome few verses right at the end. It is the last testimony borne in the Book of Mormon, and I think it explains perfectly what the book spent 531 pages trying to help us understand. Moroni pleaded, "(32) Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God. (33) And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot." Nowhere else in the world is the doctrine that through Christ we can not only be cleansed from our sins and faults, but we can also be 'perfected'! Through our Savior, we can not only be forgiven of our downfalls, but can overcome the weaknesses that cause them. And not only that, but he can turn the into strengths! He can then go on to improve our strengths day after day! Through Christ w ecan truly not just change our behavior, but our very nature! It is incredible! And I have loved seeing it so first hand on my mission! I hope you have all seen it in your own lives as well, and if not, I invite you to seek it! I LOVE YOU ALL!!! I hope you have an awesome week!
