¡Hola todo el mundo! How is everyone doing? I hope you all had another wonderful December week. It was pretty fun for me. Except for maybe having to bike 30 miles a day, and it was a good crisp 80° and 80% humidity again, so that was really lucky! We usually try and stay close to our apartment on bike week, but we have a few Investigators that live super far away. On a more positive note. These last two days actually had some AMAZING weather! It got down to like 35° one day, biking felt so good that day. It's really funny, when it gets below like 65° people start wearing heavy winter jackets. So when it was that cold Saturday, people were refusing to keep their door open for more than 10 seconds, so that kind of sucked. I did have fun amazing everyone at my lack of a jacket though. It was cold, but it honestly just felt so good to not be drowning in sweat for once. Other than the weather and biking though, this week was pretty stale. There were some nest things though, so I'll give yall the rundown.First off, investigators. That one really awesome guy, Oscar. Texted us explaining that his mother apparently does not like us and does not want him talking to us (he's like 30), so that super sucks. Me and Elder Cook were super bummed, but we are going to try getting back in contact in a bit, just to see if he has read any more Book of Mormon because, like our president says, once they reach chapter 10 (which is like reading 20 pages), it's game over, because they can't deny it at that point! We couldn't meet with Adrian or Nadia, because this was finals week, which is a valid excuse. We were able to meet with Romina though, and got to talk to her kids too! She is amazing, and is super ready! Her husband is still pretty devoutly Catholic though, so we will work on that.Next, new investigators. This week was pretty bad for new investigators. We found three people, but after the first lesson, they explained that they weren't really interested. We did get some amazing referrals (people that other people, usually ward members, have found or know), that all seem super promising. We are really starting to see the ball rolling lately. When we got here to this area 12 weeks ago, there was nothing. The last few sets of missionaries that had been in this area before us were pretty lazy and so we really had to start from scratch. We are finally seeing some rewards though! It's been tough, but we finally have solid investigators, the ward members trust us enough to refer people, and we are feeling like we have really done something here! Not going to lie, there have been days where I feel like I was putting in so much work and effort, and nothing was coming out of it. We would knock for hours, only to come home without any interested souls. It was pretty disheartening for a while, but finally starting to see what my work is doing for these people, has really made it worth it! And that's how it's all gonna be, I feel. Absolutely everything we do is gonna take some effort, and sometimes our rewarday seem delayed or even like it's never going to come, but it will. And as a desciple of Jesus Christ I get to promise things for him, and I promise you all that's whatever you are doing, as long as it's being done for a good reason, it will be worth it. Always. In some cases, you'll have to wait a long time, maybe even until after death, but the Lord never leaves His people without their compensation. Thanks again to all of you that are back home cheering me on! Yall really don't know how often I feel like stopping, only to remember that all of you back home believe in me. It means more than you could imagine! I LOVE YALL!
