Hola Todos!Had some really interesting experiences these last two weeks! I hope you all did too, how has real winter been? Florida is having some cold snaps, so these last few weeks have been super nice like low 60's upper 50's. Still really miss the snow, but I don't think I told y'all, but my family sent me a 'Blizzard' package for christmas, and it made a bit of a mess with all sizes of cottonballs and glitters and snowflakes, it was pretty neat. I'm super sorry I missed last week (I still love you mom, just hard to get everything in some weeks, and I put was too much into these emails sometimes, haha)We met a bunch of really cool people this week, highlights would probably be an older couple from Cuba, Sasha, and a small tribe from Guatemala! :D The Cuban man saw a post on Facebook from his cousin about the Bok of Mormon, and he got really interested. So he asked us to bring him one, and he talked alot about his past he used to be a "bad boy" until his wife one day said let's go to church. He agreed and they went and he really liked it! We taught about the Book of Mormon, the blessing it is, and read the title page with them. We promised as they used it they would come closer to Christ and be an example to their grandkids and greatgrandkids and testified about how our grandparents did that for us! Sasha is absolutely incredible and a very intent seeker of truth! She seemed quite uninterested when we knocked on her door, but we managed to get a chance to come back, and when we did, it was incredible! We taught about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith, and by the end, the spirit was so strong tears were very visibly steaming down her face, and she openly accepted the idea of baptism! It was absolutely incredible! She is amazing and I am so excited to teach her! Then we have the 'family' from Guatemala, this is a cool one. I'll explain it better in a little, I want to explain something else real quick before I forget.We got a call a few weeks ago, and it was an older sister in our ward. Her daughter's aunt (marriage) had passed away, and she was wanting someone to dedicate the grave (she is the only member of the Church on that side of the family). We said we would love to, and a few hours later, she asked if we would conduct the funeral services...two missionaries conducting a funeral service of a lady whom we have never met...in a room full of Catholics...we were kinda worried, but accepted! And it ended up being fantastic! We got to share a bit about what happens when we die, and the family was extremely grateful for it! We also ended up being two of the six pallbearers, which was a nice experience. And then we dedicated the grave which was super awesome, and the family really liked what we said, so that was a really cool opportunity!Now, the Guatemalan Tribe! We knocked a door last week and a lady answered who seemed very shy and once we asked if we could share a scripture, she let us in to share it with her family. We walked in, and saw a mattress on the floor in one corner of the room, and a table in the other, and about 12 kids running around speaking quite illegibly. She gathered what she could and we all sat down criss-cross on the floor, and shared a bit about the Book of Mormon and Jesus Christ, and we thought our Spanish was super bad, because whenever they spoke within themselves, we didn't get a lick of it, found out by the end, their first language is Mam! A language spoken by a few people in the mountains of Guatemala! The kids only now it, and the adults all know a good amount of spanish, but there are about 8 adults in the house and around 6 kids that actually live there (their rest were just friends, they are the party house for the complex it appears) and all of them want to come to church! Like, all. As a missionary, I have gotten probably an average of 2 people to church that I am teaching every week, and this Family wants to all come! It's super amazing! And I am so stoked to keep working with them! Now we just need to find a way to get them all a ride there, haha...These last two weeks have really been miracle filled! It has been super awesome! My companion actually found a scripture a bit ago that I have fallen in love with. In it, Heavenly Father is talking about how the Book of Mormon will be brought forth in our day, and He says, "For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith." (2 Nephi 27:23) I love this so much. I feel like most of the world has forgotten the God of Miracles and accepted a God of Indifference. Many will say that they believe in a God of miracles, but never seem to believe that they can not only see, but Recieve, miracles every day. They say that God is a God of miracles, but when confronted with a challenge they feel incapable of overcoming without His help, they may ask, but they never expect Him to actually do anything. And we read in this scripture, that He will not do anything, unless it be according to our faith. We need to know that He will, and then He will. I have really put this idea to the test this week, and have seen Many miracles because of it. And I do not mean that I hava magically avoided death or my enemies have magically been dealt with, but I have seen so many little miracles, that only really matter to me, and I think that has increased my testimony that God knows me better than anything else! I know this is getting long, so I will be cutting it off, but I could talk and testify of this for ever. God knows me, you, and everyone personally, and He will, so long as you show the faith that He will, bless you with very literal miracles. If you ask in prayer for something you deem to be in accordance with His will (which is a fancy way to say 'Good'), and believe He will give it to you, He will. Promise!
